Kiln Goddess – Artist Selling Agreement
For potters listing work through kilngoddess.com
1. Overview
Kiln Goddess is a small, home-based business that helps fellow potters sell their handmade ceramic work. By submitting this form, the Artist agrees to allow Kiln Goddess to list their work for sale on kilngoddess.com under the terms below.
2. Ownership & Sales
The Artist retains full ownership of all pieces until they are sold.
Once a sale is processed through the Kiln Goddess website, ownership transfers to the buyer.
Kiln Goddess will notify the Artist when a piece sells and will process payment promptly as outlined below.
3. Use and Safety Responsibility
The Artist is responsible for ensuring their work is suitable for its intended use - including food safety, watertightness, and durability, where applicable.
Kiln Goddess does not independently test or verify items.
If a buyer contacts Kiln Goddess with concerns, the Artist may be contacted for clarification.
4. Commission & Payment
The first 70% will be paid to the Artist via Venmo within 3 business days after the customer receives their delivery. Payment is typically processed within 7-10 business days of the sale.
Artist payouts are sent via Venmo. This method is fast, secure, and keeps your banking info private.
The remaining 30% commission is retained by Kiln Goddess on each sale (excluding shipping).
The commission covers website maintenance and advertising, payment processing, transport to the shipper, and customer support.
5. Drop-Off & Packaging
6. Photography & Listings
Kiln Goddess will photograph and list the work unless otherwise agreed.
Artists are welcome to provide short descriptions or stories about each piece, if desired.
Prices are set by the Artist and can be updated upon request.
Kiln Goddess may use product photos for marketing or social media.
7. Unsold Work & Removal
If a piece does not sell within 90 days, Kiln Goddess will contact the Artist, who may choose to:
The Artist will have 14 days from the date of outreach to confirm their choice. Kiln Goddess is not responsible for storing unsold work indefinitely. If no response is received within that window, the item may be returned or rehomed.
8. Damage or Loss
Kiln Goddess is not liable for damage during storage, handling, or shipping.
If a piece breaks during shipping:
Kiln Goddess will file a claim with the carrier.
If approved, the Artist will receive their full 70% payout.
If denied, Kiln Goddess is not responsible for reimbursement.
9. Agreement Terms
This agreement remains in effect until either party chooses to end it. Kiln Goddess may pause or discontinue listings at any time. Washington State law governs this agreement.
