For potters firing bisque and glaze work through kilngoddess.com

1. Firing Services Provided

Kiln Goddess agrees to fire the client’s ceramic work in an electric kiln. Prices include loading, unloading, careful firing to the target cone, and storage of finished pieces for up to 14 days post-firing.

Current pricing is listed on the website and may change over time.

*Full Kiln

  • Up to 3 full shelves, depending on piece heights

  • Inside 18" diameter x 18" height

2. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Label all work with initials or identifying marks

  • Ensure all pieces are fully bone dry before bisque firing

  • Use only glazes appropriate for cone 5 or 6, as reserved and compatible with the clay body

  • Apply glaze responsibly to avoid drips/runoff

    • Bring or purchase “kiln cookies” for runny glazes

3. Damage, Loss, or Kiln Accidents

While all reasonable care will be taken, Kiln Goddess is not liable for:

  • Cracks, warping, or glaze defects resulting from firing

  • Kiln shelf damage from the client’s glaze runoff (a damage fee may apply)

  • Loss due to underfired or overfired work caused by inaccurate clay/glaze labeling

4. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is due before firing

  • Cancellations or rescheduling drop-offs require 24 hours’ notice

  • Firing fees are refundable until 24 hours before your scheduled firing. After that, the spot is considered committed and non-refundable

5. Pick-up, Drop-off, and Storage times

  • Drop-off is welcome from 1-7 days prior to your scheduled firing.

  • Pick-up is available from the time I notify you pieces are ready, and for the following 2 weeks (14 days)

  • Please let me know in advance if you need your finished pieces held longer than 2 weeks. I can usually accommodate this on occasion, with a $10 extended storage fee. Storage gets limited!

  • If no arrangement or payment is made, unfinished or unclaimed work may be rehomed or discarded after the 2-week window

6. Right to Refuse Service

Kiln Goddess is a small, community-centered business. I reserve the right to refuse service in rare cases where submitted work or client behavior creates risk, disrupts operations, or conflicts with the spirit of this shared studio support.

7. Agreement Acknowledgement
